Our Senior programme is for those with significant rowing experience. Our squad is made up of athletes who rowed as junior and those who learnt to row as novices with us. Our senior squads are ambitious, driven and committed to performing at the highest level possible. This year (2023) our seniors excelled, setting a course record at WeHORR, and qualifying for Henley. Competing is a main part of being a Senior, working throughout the year for events such as Met Regatta and Henley Women’s and Henley Royal. The Senior have water sessions three times a week, as well as a comprehensive erg programme. Seniors also have access to a coached S&C programme provided by Warwick Sport. They also enjoy full access to the club’s range of social events, ensuring a ‘work hard, play hard’ mentality.

SENIOR WOMEN

COACHED BY phil costen

CAPTAINED BY Eleanor Goldby

I am Eleanor Goldby and I am this years senior women’s captain. Having grown up in London with the Thames on my doorstep, rowing is a sport that I truly love and have years of experience in. I can not wait to share my passion for the sport with all the senior women throughout this coming season.

The senior women’s squad consists of both our ex-novices and more experience rowers with a wealth of experience and knowledge to offer. Building on the senior women’s successes from this year - such as qualifying for HWR - this year our goal is to train and compete at a consistently high level throughout the season.

Being a fresh senior in my first year here at Warwick, I can attest to the friendly and positive environment of the senior women’s squad. This year will be no different. I will strive to foster a competitive and caring environment, enabling everyone to reach personal success as well as collective squad goals. I can’t wait to see where the next year takes us and all the success to come!

I look forward to welcoming all fresh seniors in the new academic year!

CAPTAINED BY anton alfonsin larsen

I am Anton Alfonsin Larsen and I am this years Senior Men’s Captain. Having come through the novice programme here at Warwick, I am looking forward to seeing what the squad can produce in my final year as a Warwick rower!

In the Senior Men we aim to acchieve the highest place possible at HoRR and BUCS events. Our ultimate goal is to qualify crews for HRR at the end of the season. Our squad currently consists of a dedicated group of rowers from a range of backgrounds; rowers developed here at Warwick and many with pre-university top-club experience!

We are very excited to continue to have Gavin as our head coach this season. Having coached at UWBC for two years, the project this year is to build on the success on the past, and produce a top boat that UWBC can be proud to call its own!

We seek to help anyone with any background in rowing to integrate into our squad and achieve the highest athletic potential possible. Anyone rowers with previous experience, please get in touch and join us!
